Controller Shown below is NSRV embedded controller. The embedded controller is responsible for the entire aircraft operation. The system provides the following major functions. The latest version, Rev. B, of the PCB features an additional I2C interface for internal and external temperature sensors. In addition, it includes minor updates for component layout and ease of manufacturing. Embedded Controller - The controller is a Z-World RCM2300 module that features a processor running at 22.1 MHz with 256K of flash memory, 128K of battery backed SRAM, and 29 digital I/O lines. The entire program is written in the C programming language and utilizes a compiler that supports floating point operation and supplies a number of libraries for common functions such as serial port drivers and a flash memory file system. Communications - Provides high and low speed data channels. The high speed channel operates at 14.4kbps using GMSK modulation with FEC (Forward Error Correction), interleaving, and scrambling to provide a reliable communication link. The low speed channel is a standard 1200bps APRS data link that allows easy tracking from handheld and mobile equipment equipment. Power Converter - Converts the battery voltage to 5.0VDC for use by the embedded controller and MODEMs. Interface - Digital interface to 24-bit ADC (Analog / Digital Converter). Line level signal to and from the data radio. Open drain outputs to control data radio frequency and transmit (Push-To-Talk) lines. Embedded Controller. Schematic / PCB Layout For best quality, print the schematic on a single 8½ x 11" sheet of paper in landscape mode using your favorite graphics application.
