Local I/O

In normal operation, the payload computer communicates with other packages through an RF wireless network.  In the event a network is not in place or hardwire control is desired, the payload computer provides limited I/O (Input/Output) capability.  The I/O functions are wired to a female DB-9 connector located on the bottom of the payload computer package.  The connector provides the following functions.

Two - 50 volt, 250mA current sink drivers.  (Open drain MOSFETs).

RS-232 level serial data.

External temperature sensor.

External VHF/UHF antenna.

External power connector for testing.
