Overview

Mission control wouldn't be complete without an accurate clock. This model utilized bright blue, 4" tall 7-segment displays from L.C. LED Corp (Lighting Components LED Corp). Time is maintained accurately with a Trimble Resolution-T GPS receiver. The clock is housed in a custom made oak enclosure with a Lexan front plate. The LEDs are mounted on three identical PCBs. Each PCB contains a PIC controller and driver circuit. The master controller also has a the GPS engine. The controllers communicate and send time data using the standard I2C interface.
